Dennis L. Cromien

AURORA - Dennis L. Cromien, 64, of Aurora, formerly of Galva, died Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

He was born November 4, 1959, in Galva, IL, the son of John and Arlene (Slover) Cromien. Survivors include two sons, James Cromien and his wife Yasmeen of Detroit, MI and Colin Cromien and his wife Lex of Bartlett, IL, daughter, Bailey Cromien of Chicago, IL, brother, Gary Cromien and his wife Carolyn of Galva, IL, brother-in-law, Greg Galler of Lake Elmo, MN, several nieces and nephews, and his furry companion, Gravy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sue Galler.

Dennis was a graduate of Galva High School, and Illinois State University, with a BS in science. He was a history buff, especially the Napoleonic and Civil wars, as well the history of Catholicism. Dennis was a fan of Chicago sports, political science, and the game show Jeopardy! He was a past president for the A+ Foundation for School District 129.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday. May 31 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Galva. Celebrant will be Fr. Chris Haake. Inurnment will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in rural Galva.
