Obituary

KEWANEE - Dennis D. Jackson, 75, of Kewanee passed away peacefully in his home April 23rd, 2022 after battling Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in Kewanee to Delbert and Eva Mae (Schmidt) Jackson on April 1st, 1947. Dennis attended Neponset Schools, and graduated from Neponset High School. Dennis married Mary Beauprez on November 11, 1983. They were one month shy of their 37th wedding anniversary.

As a young child, Dennis survived Polio. When he was a bit older, he raised cows and sheep for 4-H. After graduating from high school, Dennis enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served in Texas, Michigan, California, and Thailand. Upon returning to Kewanee, Dennis worked at Mail-o-graph. He then worked for Kewanee Boiler until it closed and then drove a semi-truck for Star until he retired.

Dennis, along with his wife Mary and their son Brian took yearly trips to the Wisconsin Dells. It is something they cherished and looked forward to each and every year. Dennis was also very passionate about old cars. He was in a car club in Kewanee for many years called The Rod Tiques. He won many dash plaques showing his car at car shows around the area. Dennis had a 27 “T” Bucket that he treasured and had been fixing up and restoring with his brother Dwayne. He loved listening to music, especially the Beach Boys. Dennis was also an avid reader and enjoyed watching movies and shows on TV.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brother David, sister Nancy, his wife Mary, nephews Carl Peed & Jordan Jackson, brother-in-law Phil Beauprez and brother-in-law Bill Dolieslager. Survivors include his son Brian Kermeen and his stepdaughter Nichole (Ginger) Blahnik, his granddaughter Brooklyn, his siblings Rosemary (Joe) Bloome and Dwayne (Denise) Jackson, his sisters-in-law Gayle Beauprez, Beth Dolieslager and Jeanne (Tom) Barton, his nephews Stephen (Stacie) Bloome, Jamie Jackson and Kyle Jackson and niece Jennifer (Lee) Ribbink along with many other family and friends.
