Dolores "Dee" M. Siemers

KEWANEE - Dolores Marie “Dee” Siemers, 95, of Kewanee, passed away peacefully at 4:50 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2024 at Arcadia Care of Kewanee.

She was born on January 5, 1929 in Kewanee, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Standaert) DeBlock. She married Walter “Bud” Siemers on August 9, 1947 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on April 6, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Kenny, Ron and Bob, a grandson, Marcus and two sisters, Donna and Frances. She is survived by her daughter, LuAnn (Bruce) Mahaffey and daughter-in-law, Sharon Siemers, both of Kewanee, eight grandchildren, Lisa (Dan) Forman, Jennifer (Bill) Pelton, Samantha Siemers (and her fiancé Cole Colburn), Brett (Heather) Sellers, Lucas (Lauren) Siemers, Christopher (Geri) Siemers, Jake (Brooke) Mahaffey and Jeffrey (Maggie) Mahaffey, twelve great grandchildren, a brother Robert (Marit) DeBlock of Streator and several nieces and nephews.

Dee graduated from Kewanee High School in 1946. She was a homemaker and had worked in her earlier years at the Walworth Foundry and at the Open Air Market. She was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and now Saint John Paul II Parish and the Flemish American Club. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, doing puzzle books and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 6 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Fr. Chris Haake officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. The burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society - Kewanee Chapter.
