Donald "Don" Snieski, age 85, of Bentonville, AR, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Circle of Life Hospice Home at Legacy Village in Bentonville. Don was born on September 18, 1938 in Kewanee, IL to Adolf "Skip" and Minnie Snieski. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret Snieski (St. Clair), whom he married on June 6th, 1964 in Bettendorf, IA. He is also survived by his two sons, Eric (Diane) Snieski and Gerry (Michelle) Snieski, both of Bentonville, AR. Don was a proud grandfather to three boys, Alex (Stephanie), Brendan and Collin. He enjoyed giving them financial advice, teasing them and telling them jokes that many times had odd punchlines that only he understood. In addition, Don was blessed with three bonus granddaughters, Kyla, Carina and Christa who provided balance from all the boys. Don also had a great grandson Hudson and was anticipating the arrival of a great granddaughter. The girls also blessed him with 4 additional great grandchildren with a 5th due any day. He is also survived by his special brother in law, Lowell St. Clair of Bettendorf, IA.
Don attended Kewanee High School and then spent four years in the United States Air Force stationed in France. Upon his return home, he joined the Kewanee Fire Department where he spent 27 years in various roles, retiring as a Captain. Don enjoyed completing small construction and remodeling projects, sleeping through a Cubs game and cheering for the Bears (most of the time).
