GALVA – Donna L. Goodwin Clark, 89, of Galva, died at 1:20 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2020 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 5 at Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville. Fr. John Burns will officiate. Memorials may be directed to St. John Catholic Church in Galva or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.
She was born March 20, 1930 in Illinois and was raised by her adoptive parents, Gilbert and Verna (Cation) Swanson. She married Sheldon Goodwin on December 27, 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1983 and she later married Duaine L. “Ole” Clark on January 2, 1993 in Galva and he preceded her death on November 28, 1996. Survivors include a son, Kim (Suzanne) Goodwin of Williamsfield, two step-sons, Gale (Jan) Clark of Galva and Daryl (Karen) Clark of Colona, four grandchildren; Jodi (Kevin) Lewis, Gina O’Dell, Kristen Ferris and Marissa Goodwin, several great grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents.
Donna graduated from Victoria High School in 1948. She had taught music and voice lessons in Yates City, Williamsfield and Knoxville School Districts and had also did private lessons. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church where she had been the church organist. She also directed church choirs and had been the church organist at churches in Dahinda, Williamsfield, Canton and Knoxville. She enjoyed playing bridge and knitting and she especially enjoyed her cats.
