Dorothy M. Taylor, 76, of Kewanee, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:38 p.m., Sunday, November 16, 2025 at her home.
She was born on March 1, 1949 in Kewanee, the daughter of Joe and Velma (Williams) Fields. She married Willie D. Taylor on February 19, 1966 and he preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Mary Jackson of Davenport, Doris Taylor-Flagg (Robert) and Rose Taylor, both of Kewanee and Garzell Taylor (Amanda) of Florida, two brothers, James Fields of Rock Island and Albert Fields of Kewanee, five sisters; Beatrice Conley (Cleverette) of Kewanee, Vicki Glancey of East Moline, Tina Gregg (Leo) of Florence, SC, Roshell Fields-Fentress of Davenport and Terri Walker of Arkansas, eight grandchildren; Lilie Ann Jackson, Susan Jackson-Garcia (Jose), Natasha King (Michael), Terrance Unzel, Shante Jackson, Raven Jackson (Cassie), Denzell Taylor and Airielle Flagg, seventeen great grandchildren with one on the way, five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Edward and Joe Fields, two sisters, Linda Fields and Orientha Castillo, two brothers-in-law, Ron Fentress and Charles Walker and a nephew, Carnell Weathersby.
Dorothy had worked in home care for the Henry County Health Department for many years. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Kewanee. She enjoyed playing card games. But most of all, she loved her family and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 22 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Minister Lou Guthrie officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. The inurnment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to her family.
