Duane W. Hagy

GALVA - Duane W. Hagy, 90, of Galva, died at 6:22 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Allure of Geneseo.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 19 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva with his brother-in-law, Dan Kenney officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., September 18 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Duane Hagy Memorial Fund for a memorial to be established.

He was born April 20, 1932 in Toulon, the son of Charles and Maggie Mae (Pickering) Hagy. He married Helen L. Kenney on November 1, 1980 in Galva. She survives of Galva, as does a daughter, Laura Easley (Donnie Trenholm) of Kewanee, five grandchildren, Ashley (Dylan) Davis, Zackery (Krista) Dailey, Julie Lindsey (Kris Specht), Sheila (Patrick) Goforth and Josh (Breann) Lindsey, seventeen great-grandchildren and a brother, Lee Hagy of Galva. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Charles, Myrtle Mae, Dean, Jean and Larry.

Duane had worked as a welder for 32 years at Pearson’s in Galva. He had attended Grace Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, trapping and deer hunting. He also had an extensive collection of caps and ball point pens and enjoyed watching westerns and movies.
