KEWANEE - Earl Francis Dean, 85, of Pine Village, IN, formerly of Kewanee, died Friday, November 27, 2020 at the home of his daughter.
Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5 at the First Christian Church in Kewanee with Pastor Bob Curry officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church or to Lincoln Christian University. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.
He was born February 21, 1935 at Kewanee Public Hospital, the son of Francis Albert and Edna (Petty) Dean. He married Mary Ann Peterson on May 19, 1957 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Galva. Survivors include his wife of Attica, IN, his three daughters; Terry Dean Felix and her husband, Andy of Washington, IL, Lori Dean McCormick and her husband, Darren of O’Fallon, IL and Kim Dean Stamm and her husband, Paul of Pine Village, IN, nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Doris Cronkhite and Marth North and his grandson, Scott Felix.
Earl graduated from Kewanee High School in 1954. He had worked as the Manager of Industrial Engineering at the Kewanee Boiler Company for 44 years. He was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church in Kewanee where he served as a teacher, deacon, elder and managed the Shepherd’s fund. Earl loved singing gospel music and sang in the church choir and other musical groups. He enjoyed golfing and played in a golf league for Kewanee Boiler for many years. Most importantly, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
