Elizabeth “Betty” Adam Laurie Bradshaw Godke, 92, of Kewanee, passed away peacefully at 12:25 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2026 at Prairie Place Senior Living in Kewanee surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 11, 1934 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, the daughter of Hugh and Margaret Percy Hart (Rankin) Bradshaw. She married Glen R. Godke on July 5, 1953 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2025. Survivors include her children; Sharon Godke Field and Barbara (Al) Salisbury, both of Kewanee and Donald (Shelli) Godke of Eldridge, IA, six grandchildren, Patti, Robin, Matt, Shane, J.R. and Kristen, six step grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, her sister, Margaret “Rita” (Bradshaw) Ellsworth of Kewanee and Glen’s cousin, Janice Godke of California. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and a seamstress and had owned and operated the G & L Fabric Center in Kewanee and had also worked at the Kewanee Diet Center. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kewanee and the Pilot Club. Elizabeth enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing crafts, making baskets and quilting in the basement of the church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 22 at Faith Lutheran Church in Kewanee with Rev. Paul Weber officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the services at the church. The burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Prairie Place Senior Living, Faith Lutheran Church or to The Care Team Hospice. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is assisting the family with arrangements.
