Emily L. Ast

KEWANEE – Emily L. Ast, 53, of Kewanee, died at 12:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Arcadia Care at Kewanee.

She was born on January 12, 1972 in Kewanee, the daughter of Joseph and Carol (Dooley) Ast. Survivors include her siblings; Beth Ast and Dan Ast, both of Kewanee and Elaine (Jason) Baele of Mineral, three nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Emily graduated from Kewanee High School in 1991. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for over 20 years at various nursing homes in the area. She was a social butterfly and a jokester who enjoyed life and liked watching the cars and people go by. She also enjoyed traveling and going out to eat. She especially loved her family and friends and cherished the time spent with them.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to her family. Rux Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
