Esther F. Jones

KEWANEE – Esther Francine “Frannie” Jones, 90, of Kewanee, died at 5:56 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Allure of Geneseo.

She was born on July 13, 1935 in Peoria, the daughter of William and Maxine (Veril) Jones. She married Edwin P. Jones Sr. on January 28, 1956 and he preceded her in death in November of 2001. Survivors include her six children;  Barb Atkinson and Vicky (Kent) Collinson, both of Galva and Sherry Jones, Edwin Jones Jr., Betty (Ted) Mercer and William Jones, all of Kewanee, two brothers, Butch Vance of Canton and Donnie Worlow of Pekin, three sisters; Carol Lee Slane of Canton, Donna Hoser of East Peoria and Lori Towery Massingale of Indiana, twenty-six grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Kathy Calef, son, Willard Geick, brother, Robert, two sisters, Mary Faye and Jackie, grandson, Jason Calef and two great grandchildren in infancy, William Jr. and Danielle.

Esther worked as a cook at Midland Country Club for 33 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, riding golf carts, vacationing and going to the river boat. She loved babies and being around young people and she especially cherished her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 23 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Chaplain Jordan Knight officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Allure of Geneseo.
