Evelyn L. Slover

KEWANEE – Evelyn L. Slover, 92, of Kewanee, died at 9:28 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Cremation will be accorded private graveside services will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the Evelyn Slover Memorial Fund and can be sent to Rux Funeral Home, 507 S. Chestnut St., Kewanee, IL 61443.

She was born June 18, 1927 in Kewanee, the daughter of William and Alcie (Phillips) Miller. She married Harvey M. Slover on July 31, 1948 in Moline and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2013. Survivors include her son, Stephen (Sandra) Slover of Neponset, two daughters, Connie (Daryl) Bollman of Kewanee and Judy (Kenny) Ferris of Bradford, her sister, Mary Jane (Delbert) Skoglund of Kewanee and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and a brother.

Evelyn graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1945. She had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Rhino Tool Company in Kewanee. She enjoyed playing Bingo and doing word search and crossword puzzles and she especially enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
