KEWANEE – Frances Kay Cooper, 66, of Kewanee, died at 9:45 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
Cremation will be accorded and a gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. Memorials can be directed to her family and may be sent to Rux Funeral Home, 507 S. Chestnut St., Kewanee, IL 61443.
She was born September 4, 1953 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Julius and Catherine “Cookie” (Koch) VanDeGenachte. She married Terry L. Cooper on July 1, 1972 in Kewanee. Survivors include her husband of Kewanee, a daughter, Cathy (Bryan) Carter of Duncan, IL, a son, John Cooper and his girlfriend, Carla Philhower of Kewanee, a brother, Marvin Newman of Florida and several grandchildren, including; Craig and Brittnay Carter and Zara Philhower. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Frances had worked in maintenance at Wal-Mart and had served on the Kewanee Auxiliary Police. In her earlier years she enjoyed hunting, baseball, playing pool, bowling, horses and farming. She also enjoyed tinkering and riding her motorcycle, but most of all her greatest joy was her family.
