GALVA – Frances L. Lang, 82, of Galva, died at 9:35 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2025 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
She was born on June 5, 1942 in Galesburg, the daughter of Kenneth and Anna Belle (Stegall) Smith. She married Danny VeNard and he preceded her in death on February 6, 1986. She later married Larry Lang in the chapel at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City and he preceded her in death on September 16, 2015. Survivors include her two sons, Larry VeNard of Galva and Danny VeNard of Kewanee, her daughter, Elizabeth Wexell of Cambridge, a grandchild, Jeremy VeNard, a step-grandchild, Kendra Tyrus, two great grandchildren, Aiden and Kannon VeNard, a brother-in-law, LeRoy Morelli, her loving friend, Sue Torbert and two nieces and a nephew. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Ronald Smith, a sister, Sharon Morelli, son-in-law, Larry Wexell, daughter-in-law, Sherri VeNard and a niece, Anna Smith.
Frances worked as a cook for the Williamsfield School District. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and collecting owl figurines. She loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them.
Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society-Kewanee Chapter. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is assisting the family with arrangements.
