Gary Frisby

KEWANEE – Gary G. Frisby, 71, of Kewanee, died Thursday, December 9, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Gary was born February 27, 1950 in Kewanee, the son of Timothy Judson and Lavina Belle (Lyons) Frisby. At the age of 8 they moved from Wyoming, IL to Galesburg where he attended West and Lombard schools. Following school, he joined the U.S. Army where served in Hawaii. He worked for Schwan’s and retired from FedEx in 2009.

He is the father of Christy (James) Cable and Laura (Quentarious) McClinton and grandfather to Alyssa and Emma Cable. He is also survived by two brothers, Gene and Joe and a sister, Janet Lovell. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Marcia, Bill, Tim Jr., Mary Alice, Allen Arthur, Shirley, Dorothy, Richard Carl, Timmy and Marie.

Gary loved to travel, scuba diving, playing cards with his friends at Parkside, but most of all he loved his family. Family was everything to him, especially his girls! His daughters and granddaughters were his world.

Cremation will be accorded and graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 18 at Osceola Grove Cemetery in rural Bradford with Carol Kersey officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

To get to Osceola Grove Cemetery take US Highway 34 W until you get to IL-91 just past The Stables. Turn left onto IL-91 S. You will be on IL-91 S for 8.3 miles until you come to 1130 E. Turn right onto 1130 E. and this will take you to the cemetery. There is a sign that reads cemetery entrance just prior to 1130 E.
