Gary Lee Hampton

KEWANEE - Gary Lee Hampton, 50, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in Kewanee.

He was born April 11, 1970 in Kewanee, the son of Wren and Shirley (Lake) Hampton.

Gary attended Wethersfield Schools and Chicago University. He is survived by his mother of Kewanee, his children; Tyler Hampton and Bradley Hampton, both of Farmington, MO and Brianna Lanxon, Kimberly Kerg and Dustin Kerg, all of Kewanee, his grandson, Jaxon Verway of Kewanee and his girlfriend, Kari Vinson of Kewanee. Also surviving are his sisters; Berna (David) Gustaitis and Zoe Langdon, both of St. Charles, MO and Robin (Jay) Andrews of Kewanee, his brothers; Sam (Kay) Hampton of Moline, Nick Hampton of Kewanee, RJ (Pam) Hampton, of South Daytona, FL and Doug (Jackie) Hampton of Wyoming, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Wren Hampton III.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date, post COVID-19. Memorial donations may be directed to the Gary Hampton Memorial Fund and can be sent to Rux Funeral Home, 507 S. Chestnut St., Kewanee, IL 61443.
