KEWANEE - Glen R. Godke, 93, of Kewanee, passed away peacefully at 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2025 at Courtyard Estates of Kewanee, surrounded by his loving family.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, October 23 at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Webber officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. He was born on June 28, 1932, in Kewanee, the son of William and Elsie (Kersten) Godke. He married Elizabeth Adam Laurie Bradshaw on July 5, 1953 in Kewanee. She survives as do their children, Sharon Godke Field and Barbara (Al) Salisbury, both of Kewanee and Donald (Shelli) Godke of Eldridge, IA, six grandchildren, Patti, Robin, Matt, Shane, J.R. and Kristen, six step grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a sister-in-law, Rita Ellsworth and one living cousin, Janice Godke of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Helen Kennaugh and two brothers, Dean and Robert.
Glen attended Kewanee Schools. He had worked for Sealtest Distributor and V and S Welding and Supply. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church which he had helped construct. He enjoyed wintering in Lithia, FL and spending time at his cabin on the Rock River. He enjoyed fishing and flower gardening and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle and he always found ways to support them in all that they did. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
