KEWANEE - Glen H. Miller, 91, of Kewanee, died at 3:17 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2022 at his home.
Cremation has been accorded and a military salute will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10 at his favorite fishing pond located at 10906 105 E St., in Neponset (Gary Baze farm). Following the salute all are welcomed to join the family at the Wagon Wheel in Mineral where food will be served but drinks are on your own. Rux Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born January 10, 1931 in Kewanee, the son of William C. and Helen L. (Wilsey) Miller. He is survived by his children, David Miller, Brenda (Michael) Kegebein, Glen J. Miller Sr., Myrtle Hamilton, Carol J. Gutschlag and John Miller, his grandchildren, Brad (Liz) Kegebein, Nancy (Brandon) Blackard, Glen J. (Laura) Miller Jr., Misty Miller, Laura (Saul) Valencia, Nicholas Hamilton, Amanda Miller, Josef Gutschlag, Kevin Miller and Ryan Miller, his great-great grandchildren, David, Joseph, Michael, Alexis, Ashley, Heavenly, Jaylinn, Ricky, Aurorah, Tyler, Angelia, Antonio, Romeo, Amore, Alex, Chloie, Layla, Isaac Jr., Grace and Lyric and special friends, Pam (Jeremy) Rosebeck, Cricket (Kurt) Nyert and Anne (Jerry) Kates. He was preceded in death by his father who died when Glen was a small child, his mother Helen and his step-father, Allen Bowling who helped raise him, a brother, Harlan Bowling, a sister, Betty Miller and a grandson, Zachary Hamilton.
Glen served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He had been a factory worker and had also worked in the street department of the Laborers International Union of North America, Local #538. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and helping those in need.
