CHANA – Glenn P. Sundberg Jr., 73, of Chana, IL, died at 3:02 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2025 at his home.
He was born August 5, 1951 in Geneseo, the son of Glenn P. and Lillian (Williamson) Sundberg Sr. He married Glenda K. Perrine on September 9, 1995 in Rockton, IL. Survivors include his wife of Chana, his mother, Lillian McIntosh of Bishop Hill, his mother-in-law, Joyce Yoakum, four children; Troy (Lidia) Sundberg of Clover, SC, Eric Kelly of Loves Park, IL, Joshua Perrine of Dekalb, IL and Jennifer Perrine of Rockford, IL, two brothers, Richard (Vicki) Sundberg and James (Pat) Sundberg, both of Ocala, FL, four sisters; Christine “Tina” Krause of Land O’ Lakes, FL, Sandra Strand of Bishop Hill, Barbara (Robert) Gonzales of Stone Mountain, GA and Jean (Wayne) Sims of Lawrenceville, GA, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Coco. He was preceded in death by his father.
Glenn graduated from Galva High School in 1970. He served his country in U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era from 1971-74. Over the years he had worked in ranching, was a farmer, and as a truck driver. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and following baseball. He also enjoyed horses.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 18 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva where military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers. Pastor Martin Gutzmer will officiate. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Serenity Hospice in Oregon, IL.
