Our dear mother, Glenna (Wildemuth) Fidoe, sadly passed away on February 2nd 2025, a few days prior to her 77th birthday. We were always so amazed and inspired by her strong work ethic and her calm demeaner no matter the situation. These are traits she instilled in her kids. Her focus was always to ensure that we had everything we needed to succeed in life.
Glenna was the daughter of Harold and Pauline Wildemuth and grew up on the family farm outside Annawan, IL. She later attended Illinois State University before marrying John Fidoe in 1968. John’s Air Force assignment took them to Hawaii for several years. When John got out of the Air Force they returned to Illinois and eventually settled in Kewanee near Glenna’s family. Glenna then turned her love of sewing into a career working at Excelled Sheepskin & Leather (formerly Empire) for 47 years. Even though she was a seamstress for a living, she still spent much of her free time sewing at home along with knitting and crocheting.
She was predeceased in death by her father Harold, mother Pauline and brother Jim. She leaves behind her husband, John Fidoe, brother Jerry Wildemuth, daughter Michelle (Andy) Tucker, son Alan (Sarah) Fidoe, son Billy (Karla) Fidoe, granddaughter Amethyst Fidoe and grandson Micah Fidoe.
A memorial gathering will take place at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee on Monday, February 10 from 3:00-5:00pm.
The family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
