Harriet Saey Obituary

Harriet E. Saey, 94, of Kewanee, passed away peacefully at 3:22 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Gardens at Kewanee.

She was born on November 19, 1931 in La Fayette, IL, the daughter of William A. and Elizabeth F. (Golden) Moulton. She married Leo A. Saey on August 20, 1949 in Princeton and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1995. She is survived by her loving family that includes her two sons, Ronald (Cynthia) Saey and Edward (Susan) Saey, both of Kewanee, her two daughters, Criste (Lon) Hicks of Prophetstown and Debra (Neil) Johnson of Johnston, IA, eighteen grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Albert, Edward, Harold and Gaylord and five sisters; Hazel Cole, Rosemarie Sisson, Leona Stewart, Lois Egbert and Mary Townsend.

Harriet graduated from Kewanee High School in 1949. She worked at General Electric in Morrison, IL and then had worked as an office manager and medical assistant for 16 years for Richard Terry MD until retiring in 1985. She was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was currently a member of the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church and the Ladies Adoration Society at the church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and their families and the countless friends she had over the years and will be deeply missed by them all.

Cremation will be accorded and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5 at Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Fr. John Cramer. Memorial donations may be directed to Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, the American Heart Association or to the OSF Hospice, Galesburg affiliate. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is assisting the family with arrangements.
