KEWANEE – Harry E. Henriksen, 76, of Kewanee, died at 6:21 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2018 at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley, IL.
Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 12 at Boyds Grove Methodist Church in rural Bradford. Pastor Jan Ringenberg will officiate. Military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veteran’s Council. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.
He was born on November 5, 1941 in Nicholasville, KY, the son of Axel and Lila (Lee) Henriksen. He married Sandra K. Stone on August 28, 1965 at the Boyds Grove Methodist Church. She survives as do two sons, Jeff (Terri) Henriksen of Winona, MN and Rich (Cris) Henriksen of Star Prairie, WI, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister, Harriet (Jim) Kuhn of Morton, Il. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard and a sister, Shirley.
Harry had graduated from Tiskilwa High School and then attended the University of Iowa and then graduated from the Rockford School of Business. He served his country during the Viet Nam Era with the Army. He had worked as a manager for J.C. Penny at stores in Aledo, Reedsburg and Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and in Kewanee. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kewanee, the Elks and Lions Clubs and he enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing.
