Hazel "H.P." Miller

KEWANEE – Hazel Patricia “H.P.” Miller, 71, of Kewanee, died at 11:48 p.m., Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Kewanee Care Home.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born October 30, 1951 in Kewanee, the daughter of Kenneth and Doris Arlene Gerard. She married George Charles Johnson Sr., and he preceded her in death, and she later married Thomas Howard Miller I and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, George Johnson Jr. of Kewanee, her two daughters, Angel (Toby) Hatley of Midlothian, TX and Jenni Rosenthal of Morton, four stepsons; Thomas Miller II, Jerry Miller, Tracy Andrew Miller and Daniel Miller, seven grandchildren; Xavior Johnson-Hardy, Adrianna Rosenthal, Kyler Hatley, McKynzie Peed, Taylor Hatley and Matthew and Michael Peed and McKenzie Carley who helped care for her and whom she considered as a granddaughter,  several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Gerard Sr.

H.P. had worked as a manager for Kerr-McGee Energy Company. She enjoyed cake decorating and especially enjoyed her family and time spent with her grandchildren.
