KEWANEE – James E. “Jimmy” Erdman, 60, of Kewanee, died at 6:25 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Allure of Walnut.
He was born on December 26,1964 in Kewanee, the son of Kenneth L. and Bonnie S. (Peterson) Erdman Sr. Survivors include his sister, Leanne (Gregg) Williams of Princeton, a brother, Daniel Erdman of Neponset and nephews; Eli (Nataly) Bates of Batumi, GA, Lucas (Lizz) Bates of Cherry, IL and Kenneth Erdman III (Colleen) of Macon, GA and great nephews; Orrin, Arlo, and Jude Erdman, all of Macon, GA and Michael Bates of Batumi, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jacob Erdman in January of 2022 and daughter, Jamie Sue Pollock in 1995.
Jimmy graduated from Kewanee High school in 1983. He worked as a grain tester and water operator at Big River Resources in Galva. He was also a certified welder and beaded flues at the Kewanee Boiler Corporation. He was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed collecting arrowheads and other artifacts and he especially enjoyed his cat, Milo.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 24 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee with Deacon Martin VanMeltebeck officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:45 a.m., Thursday at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee prior to the services at the cemetery. Following the services a Celebration of Life will held from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Flemish American Club. Memorials may be directed to The Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research.
