James W. Miller

NEPONSET – James W. Miller (Jim), 59, of Neponset, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria with his family by his side.

He was born January 7, 1965 in Peoria, the son of John and Sharon Miller. He married Julie K. Moore on June 10, 1988 in Rock Island. Survivors include his wife of Neponset, his two children, Justin Miller of Eldridge and Sarah (Jerod) Larson and a grandson on the way of Alpha, his mother, Sharon of Galesburg, sister, Joanne (Gary) Hayden of Apollo Beach, FL, his brother, Joe Miller of Galesburg, and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John.

Jim graduated from Neponset High School in 1983 and attended Black Hawk East. He worked as an inspector for John Deere for 20 years. He enjoyed traveling, family vacations, going to the beach, spending time with his many friends, and just being outdoors.

A Celebration of his Life will be held from 2:00-6:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29 at the Kewanee Elks Lodge located at 113 N. Tremont St. in Kewanee.  Memorials may be directed to your local FFA Chapter. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.
