Jennie Lynn Garms

Jennie Lynn Garms, 61, of Estherville, IA, died at 8:13 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones at Avera Health in Sioux Falls, SD.

She was born on April 3,1964 in Kewanee, IL, the daughter of Louis and Kathryn (Cass) Garms. She graduated from Kewanee High School and Blackhawk College with a degree in nursing.

Jennie is survived by her son, Craig Garms of Silvis IL, daughter, Courtney Garms of Peoria IL, granddaughter, Natalie Powers and her father, Mason Powers of Estherville, IA, two siblings, Christina (Brian) Carlson, Galva IL and Bill (Jackie) Garms of Kewanee, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Lauren Trussen and brother-in-law, Brian Carlson.

Jennie worked for many years as an RN at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was very active and was a beloved grandmother to Natalie. She had an amazing sense of humor, loved crafting, traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

A private funeral will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and cards, memorials may be directed for an educational fund to be set up for her granddaughter Natalie. Rux Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
