JoAnn Lempke

KEWANEE - JoAnn Lempke, 76, of Kewanee, died at 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 25, 2020 at her home with her loving daughter at her side.

Cremation will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 3, 2021 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the JoAnn Lempke Memorial Fund. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born November 25, 1944 in Dunlap, IL, the daughter of Wilbert and Lavonia (Barrett) Harlan. She married Donald E. Lempke on May 1, 1965 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on July 21, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Sally Taylor, two nephews and a great nephew. She is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Lempke of Kewanee, two sisters, Pat Hockenbury and Helen Harlan, both of Wyoming, four brothers, Willard of Princeville, Donald of Wyoming, Robert of Chillicothe and Ralph of Wyoming, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

JoAnn had been a homemaker and also did house cleaning for various individuals. She enjoyed talking on the phone and keeping in touch with family and friends. She also enjoyed watching TV, doing puzzle books and playing cards.
