John Edward Bantz

WILLIAMSFIELD - John E. Bantz, 74, of Williamsfield, died Sunday, October 19, 2025 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born on September 25, 1951 in Galesburg, the son of Maurice and Shirley (Lumberry) Bantz. He married Jennifer Dudley on June 3, 1972. Survivors include his wife of Williamsfield, his son, Jarrod Bantz of Williamsfield, three brothers, Harley Bantz and Dennis Bantz, both of Happy Hollow, IL and Larry Bantz of Fairview, IL and two grandchildren, Jayden and Gavin. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Bantz.

John graduated from Williamsfield High School. He did landscaping and snow removal for the State of Illinois and had farmed in the area. He enjoyed playing darts, mud trucks and racing stock cars. He loved his family and cherished the time spent with them.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25 at Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield with Carl King officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Elmore Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to his family.
