Joseph A. "Joe" Marshall Obituary

KEWANEE – Joseph A. “Joe” Marshall, 77, of Kewanee, passed away at 7:56 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2024 at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.

He was born on May 15, 1947 in Moline, the son of John and Laura (Raes) Marshall. He married Patricia Kay “Pat” Poulsen on March 11, 2000. Survivors include his wife of Kewanee, a son, Todd Nelson of Pekin, two daughters, Tracy (Devin) Wells of Cambridge and Debra (James) Poppenhager of Kewanee, brother, Dale (Brenda) Marshall of Orion, two sisters, Laureen Jansen and Christine (Mike) Nightingale, both of Orion, grandchildren; Josh Lord, Adam Lord, Isabella (Dalton) Thrasher, Sawyer Wells, Temperance Wells, Gabriella (Andrew) Frail, Paige Popescu, Andre Gerts and Sebastian Torres and great grandchildren; Aziel Torres, Olivia and Anastasia Frail and Mya, Tinley and Rhea Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Teresa and brothers, John and Loren.

Joe graduated from Orion High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer and worked as a semi-truck driver and had lived in Florida for 20+ years. He was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed attending car shows, racing pigeons and collecting John Deere memorabilia.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of his Life will be held at from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23 at Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Orion. A meal will be provided. Private interment will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Rux Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
