Joseph Thomas Krause, 82, of Kewanee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at his home.
Joe was born on October 28, 1942 in Kewanee, the son of Lloyd and Anne (Karpowicz) Krause. He married Mary Armstrong on July 2, 1966 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Kewanee. Survivors include his wife of 58 years of Kewanee, his two children, Michael (Marta) Krause of Port Charlotte, FL and Catherine (Mark) Warner of Galva, five grandchildren; Alexia (Lee) Fuller, Adam Krause, Jacob (Taylor) Warner, Courtney (Brandon) Anderson and Taylor Warner, as well as a great grandchild, Greyson Warner, several nieces, nephews and cousins and his canine companion, Sam. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Anthony “Tony” Krause and Francis Krause.
Joe graduated from Kewanee High School in 1960. He worked for Case International Harvester as a forklift operator and later as safety inspector for 30 years until his retirement. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved his family and was proud of his grandchildren and especially enjoyed attending their events.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 27 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Fr. Chris Haake officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. The burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
