Judith K. Harris

GALVA - Judith K. Harris, 75, of Galva, formerly of Bradford, died at 8:59 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 18 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Chuck Hilman will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service with private inurnment at a later date at Osceola Grove Cemetery in rural Bradford. Memorials may be directed to the Judith Harris Memorial Fund.

She was born May 28, 1943 in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Clifford and Katherine (Fackler) Esterday. She married Brad Harris in May of 1969 and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George. She is survived by three daughters, Debbie (Cliff) Wright of Galva, Becky (Brian) Cade of Bradford and Denise Dodson of West Virginia, six grandchildren, Heather (Pat), Elizabeth (Tyler), Jacob, Christopher, Brianna and Nicholas, twelve great-grandchildren and six siblings, Clifford of Texas, Louise of Iowa, Billy and Arlene, both of Missouri, Anita of Iowa and Connie of Ohio.

Judith graduated from LaMoille High School. She had worked as a nurse for 40 years at various places including Basswood Nursing Home in Princeton for 22 years. Judy was a very caring and giving person. She loved to garden and was an avid reader. Her family was everything to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
