Julia Brazee Jacobs

KEWANEE – Julia Brazee Jacobs, 77, of Kewanee, died at 9:10 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2024 at her home following a prolonged illness.

She was born March 28, 1947 in Kewanee, the daughter of Clyde and Lucy (Burlew) Brazee. She married Charles D. Jacobs on May 15, 1965 in Kewanee. Survivors include her husband of Kewanee, two sons, David (Paula) Jacobs and Adam Jacobs, both of Kewanee, daughter, Laura (Jeff) Martin of Kewanee, her five grandchildren; Haley (Josh) Verscha, Jacob (Sara) Paxton, Alyssa Jacobs, Austin Jacobs and Mylee Jacobs and her five great grandchildren; Lexi Inman, Jalynn Conlin, Ace Jacobs, Wyatt Paxton and Ava Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Julia was a homemaker and a genealogist who had a great sense of humor and enjoyed cracking jokes. She also enjoyed music, collecting albums, going to yard sales, crocheting, dancing and playing cards with her husband. She loved her family and cherished the time spent with them.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30 at the Kewanee American Legion located at 116 E. Third St. in Kewanee. Private inurnment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee. The honorary pallbearers are David Jacobs, Adam Jacobs, Jacob Paxton, Austin Jacobs, Ace Jacobs and Wyatt Paxton Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Rux Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
