June Klimkewicz Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, mother, grandmother and great grandmother June Klimkewicz on August 19, 2024. She was adored by the entire family and always welcomed everyone with a smile.  She loved her family above all and was very dedicated to the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church for many years. She held almost every office in the church and its’ Adoration Society.

Quilting, crocheting, sewing, porcelain doll painting, and ceramics were hobbies that made her heart sing. All the girls have been blessed with her special homemade dolls.  She even sewed the clothes for them.

She was born in her aunt’s home in Galva on June 1, 1936. The daughter of Robert and Mildred Winter, she was welcomed home by 9 siblings. June completed the family of 12.

On June 5, 1954, June married Edward Klimkewicz and they were married for 58 years before he passed away on March 18, 2013.

Edward and June were blessed with two sons, Matthew Klimkewicz and Irvin (Ann) Klimkewicz, five grandchildren in 5 years joined the family; Cassidy (Mark) Stombaugh, Jacob (Megan) Klimkewicz, Chelsea (Joshua) Klimkewicz Johnson, Alex Klimkewicz and Kaylee (Troy) Anderson. Those grandchildren have blessed them with ten great grandchildren: Nathaniel, Hudson and Lydia Stombaugh, Addison, Tessa and Elliot Anderson, Barrett and Katherine Klimkewicz and Eleanor Ann and Loretta June Johnson.

Many people remember June from her time at General Telephone Co. as a telephone operator trainer and as the office manager for many years to Drs. Lopez, Parungao & Associates. She and her husband Ed, along with Howard Stahl owned and operated E&H Auto Supply where they were always available for their customers.

Thank you to her many friends and neighbors who helped to check in on her and bring her food and smiles to keep her spirits up.  Special thanks to the daughter she never had, Leanna (Nanna) Verstraete.

She is survived by her sons, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sisters, Virginia and Henrietta and sister-in-law, Irene Dir.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed, parents: Robert & Mildred Winter, family members: Robert “Sonny” Winter, Richard and Juanita Winter, Eugene and Earlene Winter, Irvin and Elsie Winter, Joyce and Roland Steward, Susan and Joe Bridson, Jim and Doris Chinakas, Bill Long, Jerry Young, Emery Todd, Willis Todd, Regina Saigh, Steve Pozio and Bernice Hoste, great grandchildren, Zoey Milka and Brooks Anderson and other beloved nieces and nephews.
