Kenneth W. Currier, 86, of Yorkville passed away on Sunday November 7, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. Ken was born November 25, 1934 in Kewanee, IL to Dick S. Currier and Eva I. (Weaklim) Currier.
Kenneth married Louella Sapp on June 16, 1954 in Kewanee, IL. They shared the majority of their life together in Aurora and Yorkville, IL. He is survived by his wife Louella and four children.
Ken retired from Caterpillar Tractor company after 32 years and retired to Yorkville, IL for his remainder years. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling prior to losing his sight to Macular Degeneration.
Ken was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin W. Currier and Terry L. Currier. One grandson, Shawn P. Currier and all of his siblings and parents.
He is survived by his wife, Louella of 67 years along with his children: Kim A. Currier (Debra Johnson Walker) of TX, Tammy L. Melpolder (Don) of TX, Kerry L. Currier of CO and Julia A Gray (Edward) of IL. They have 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 12 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor Jon Vincent officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the Kenneth Currier Memorial Fund.
