KEWANEE - Kenneth L. Kuster, 94, of Kewanee, died at 6:50 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Arcadia Care of Kewanee.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Church of Peace with Pastor Andrew Christman officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in the Garden of Peace Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Church of Peace.
He was born on March 18, 1931 in Kewanee the son of John and Florence (Rieff) Kuster. He married Mary June Cheek on June 26, 1955, in Dade City, FL and she preceded him in death on September 25, 2018. Survivors include two sons, John “Blake” Kuster of Muscatine, IA and Michael Kuster and wife Kim of Lombard, IL, two daughters, Robin Sumrall and husband Lonnie of Tampa, FL and Leann Pregont and husband Dan of Land O’ Lakes, WI; ten grandchildren: Nicholas Eilers and wife Adena, Rachel Barkules, Jaclyn Torrey and husband Jordan, Bill Clark and wife Brittany, Jessica Hawkins and husband Ian, Christine Borrillo and husband Shane, Karin Kuster, Whitney Kuster, Brooke Kuster, and Mikey Kuster and wife Olivia; thirteen great grandchildren: Taliya, Jada, Sofia, Caleb, Adeline, August, Jack, Levi, Miles, William, Kayleen, Giovanni, and Adrain; and his sister, Janice Larson of Surprise, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Kenny, as he preferred to be called, farmed and worked for many years as an independent contractor. In his later years, he owned and operated Midland South Apartments along with his wife Mary June. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Peace and served in many different roles. Kenny was honored to serve his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was an avid fisherman and fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Above all, he cherished the time spent with family, who brought him his greatest joy. His warmth and presence will be missed and remembered forever with love.
