Kenneth "Kenny" Shipe

Kenneth E. “Kenny” Shipe, 67, of Galva, died at 12:28 p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2026 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born on February 1, 1959 in Bethesda, MD, the son of Leo and Shirley (McKinney) Shipe. Survivors include his daughter, Natasha (Larry Gajeski) Dennison of Kewanee and her children, Eli and Victoria, brother, Jon (Teresa) Shipe of Kewanee, his girlfriend of over 40 years, Barb Demas and her daughter, Kari (Rob) Weston and their children, Cody and Payton, several nieces and nephews and Kenny’s good friend, Ronnie Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Diane and brother, Frank.

Kenny attended Galva Schools and had worked as a truck driver for Galva Iron & Metal in Galva for 20 years. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Private inurnment will take place at Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
