Kevin R. Hampton

Kevin R. Hampton, 48, of Rantoul, died at 6:32 a.m., Thursday, April 17, 2025 in the emergency room at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Jordan Ziegenbein officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

He was born on February 14, 1977, in Kewanee the son of Wren Hampton and Patricia Hood. Those surviving include his children; Michael Hampton of Dwight, IL, Matthew (Camryn) Hampton of Champaign, IL, and Judith Hampton and her fiancé Nicholas Stevenson of Champaign, IL., two brothers; Jeffrey (Lisa) Hampton of Galva and Wren Hampton III of North Carolina, a nephew Kristopher Hampton, nieces; Maria Steidinger and Morgan Hampton, stepdad, Paul Hood, as well as his girlfriend of many years, Christina Roy.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother Donna Robinson.

Kevin was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the New York Yankees. He found joy on the fairway and cherished his time spent with family. Whether grilling in the backyard with his dog Brutus or sharing stories over a good meal, Kevin brought warmth and joy to any gathering. His children were his pride and joy.
