KEWANEE - Larry W. “Boa” Krech, 65, of Kewanee, formerly of the Chicago area, died at 9:24 p.m., Saturday October 16, 2021 in the emergency room at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, October 22 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the family. The funeral home will maintain compliance with COVID regulations and requires that all guests wear a mask for the safety of all those attending.
He was born September 24, 1956 in Terrell, MS, the son of Dewey Jr. Krech and Sarah Cartwright. He married Maria Feliciano on December 5, 1981 in Chicago. She survives as well as two sons, Michael A. Krech and Nicholas E. (Lorena) Krech, both of Kewanee and a daughter, Lynette, two grandchildren, Adrian and Selena, his mother, Sarah Brownlee, two brothers, David Krech (Lisa) and Joseph Brownlee, three sisters; Susan, Debra and Paula, two brothers-in-law, Edward and Eugene and two sisters-in-law, Virginia and Fern and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
Larry grew up in the Chicago area and was known as Boa to many of his friends. He had been a long-time truck driver and was known for his natural ability of auto mechanics. He enjoyed Drag races, classic cars, talking and visiting with people and was an avid Chicago Bear and Blackhawk fan. He especially enjoyed being around his family and his grandchildren and many lifetime childhood friends.
