Leslie "Les" Anderson

KEWANEE – Leslie C.  “Les” Anderson, 76, of Kewanee, died at 8:15 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2025 at his home.

He was born on February 18, 1949 in Kewanee, the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Kerr) Anderson. He married Kathy Bryner on November 28, 1969. Survivors include his wife of Kewanee, his son, Norman (Jennifer) Anderson of Knoxville, TN, grandchildren: Matthew and Meagan Anderson and Jordan (Megan) Bolin, great grandchildren, Drake and Lorna Bolin and several nieces and nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, a brother, Steven Kerr Anderson and a sister, Susan Elizabeth Anderson-Scott.

Les graduated from Wethersfield High School. He worked as a plant engineer for GTE for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He loved to work on cars and owned and operated A+ Auto for 10 years. He was a board member of the Quad City Chapter of Muskies Inc. and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, competitive rifle shooting and NASCAR. He was President of the Ft. Defiance Rifle & Pistol Club for 30 years. He thoroughly enjoyed his fishing trips with his brother to Hayward, WI for over 50 years.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life for Les will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m, Saturday, July 5 at the Flemish American Club, 313 N Burr Blvd. in Kewanee. Private inurnment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is assisting the family with arrangements.
