Linda Forbes

GALVA - Linda Ruth Tennis Bricker Forbes, 77, of Galva, passed away at 12:12 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva with Pastor Ivan Brake officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of her service. Burial will be at the Galva Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

She was born on October 25, 1947, in Huntington, PA, the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Sheets) Tennis. She was married to William Bricker Sr. and then later to Robert Forbes on March 12, 1994 in Williamsfield. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, William Bricker III. She is survived by three daughters and a son, Tracy (Ronnie) Lambert of Galesburg, Mary Lawver (Paul Denny) of Indianapolis, IN. William (Katie) Bricker JR., and Amanda Bricker Jaco, both of Galva, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Linda was also the oldest of twelve children in her family.

Linda graduated from Huntington High School and then served her country as a US Marine in Vietnam from 1965 till 1969. She was a full-time mother but found time to work as a secretary for Sunbeam, had operated Loving Hands Cleaning and Health Care Services, was a CNA, a licensed cook, and provided home health care through the health department.  She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and sang in the choir. She enjoyed sketching and painting, baking and teaching chalk artistry at the church. She was also the founder of Biker Santa.
