Linda K. Streitmatter

KEWANEE- Linda K. Streitmatter, 74, of Kewanee, died at 8:52 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Courtyard Village in Kewanee.

Cremation will be accorded and private services will be held. Memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born August 1, 1947 in Kewanee, the daughter of Merwin and Florence (Bishop) Frail. She married Milo Streitmatter Jr. on June 9, 1967 at the Toulon United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2015. Those surviving include her sons; Joshua Streitmatter and his sons, Colin and Andrew of Toulon and Tim Streitmatter of Altona, siblings; Donna (Ed) Jones of Kewanee, Chuck (Debbie) Frail of Kewanee, Michael (Yong Hi) Frail of South Korea, Pam Hendricks of Kewanee and Brenda (Tony) Verscha of Kewanee. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, James.

Linda had attended Toulon High School and went on to work for the USDA Lab in Peoria as a laboratory technician. She later worked for the Kewanee Public Library retiring in 2000. Linda and Milo loved to travel, especially to Russia, China, and Alabama. They also volunteered for the American Red Cross assisting people in need after catastrophic events. Linda also enjoyed couponing with her sister, Pam. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
