Lisa Janey Obituary

KEWANEE - Lisa Marie Janey, 68, of Kewanee, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 25 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Rev. John Reside officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Kewanee Food Pantry.

She was born on November 3, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Alan and Josephine “Bunny” (Coniglio) Pearson. She married Gary Janey on October 29, 1978. He survives as well as their daughters, Jennifer Edwards, Angela Janey, Maria Janey, Shely (Ryan) Propst and Stephanie (George V.) Hansen, 14 grandchildren, Meranda, Kyle, Katie, Mary, Justin and Hannah Edwards, Karli Janey, Talyn, Jasmine and Trinity Propst, Isabelle Weinrich, Jayna Tracy and Taylor and George A. Hansen, several great grandchildren, three brothers, Alan (Kim) Pearson, Eric (Laura) Pearson and Scott (Paula) Pearson, a sister, Lori (Tim) Cain (Pearson) and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lisa had graduated from Wethersfield High School. She was the Director of the Kewanee Food Pantry since 2013. She enjoyed watching X-Files, playing bingo, watching sci-fi shows and listening to music, especially her favorite artist, Bon Jovi. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
