Lynn Joyce (Seward) Lucas, 71, of Kewanee, died at 8:15 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Avenues at Royal Oaks in Kewanee.
She was born on July 21, 1954 in Chicago, the daughter of Arnetras Nadine Lee and Joe Seward. She grew up in Tennessee, moving to Kewanee as a teenager. She graduated with the Class of 1973 from Kewanee High School. She married John P. Lucas on April 29, 1978 and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1994. She worked for many years at Bridgeway Sheltered Workshop. She was a participant and supporter of the CROP walk and the Salvation Army bellringers and was a member of the Second Baptist Church where she served as an usher. Lynn loved to collect watches and tennis shoes and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers. She also attended Kewanee sporting events throughout her life.
Those she leaves behind to miss her are her children; Patric, Dwayne and LaShonda, brothers, Gregory Lee and Herbert (Winnie) Lee, her dear friends and caregivers, Cheryl and Brent Majeske and family, her special friends; Tina Gregg, Minnie Taylor, Raelynne Neirnyck and family, Susie Cliff, Dorothy Davis and Lucille Warren and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, bother, Harold, sisters, Harriet James, her twin Linda Gibson and Deneice Hayes.
Lynn knew no stranger and was a friend to all.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 23 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor Lou Guthrie officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Lynn Lucas Memorial Fund.
