Margaret A. Despain

MOLINE – Margaret A. Despain, 92, of Moline, formerly of Kewanee, died at 10:31 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Bettendorf.

She was born on September 15, 1932 in Kewanee, the daughter of Daniel and Lucille (Gardner) Millslagle. She was married to Richard J. Despain for 72 years. Survivors include her husband, Richard of Moline, her son, Timothy (Lisa) Despain of Colona and two grandchildren, Matthew and Katelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Daniel, Richard and Emmett, two sisters, Helen and Ethel and her son, J. Gregory Despain.

Margaret graduated from Kewanee High School in 1951. She worked as a lab operator for Dr. Dan & John Watkins Orthodontists in Moline until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kewanee, and she enjoyed traveling.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor Randy Hroziencik officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
