Margaret A. (Reece) Faber

KEWANEE – Margaret Alice (Reece) Faber, 95, of Kewanee, died at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born February 7, 1929 in Kewanee, the daughter of Cleburn “Bill” and Bertha (Hatch) Reece. She married Francis J. “Fritz” Faber on May 17, 1952 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on April 6, 2005. Survivors include her six children: Laurie (Kenny) Entas of Galva, Timothy (Jean) Faber, Steven (Peggy) Faber and Terri Wolfe, all of Kewanee, Joseph Faber of Peoria and Matthew Faber of Kewanee, her brother, Frank Reece of Pekin, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son David in infancy, her siblings; Donald Reece, Dorothy Pettersson, Mildred Reece and Fred Reece and son-in-law, Ed Wolfe.

Margaret had attended a one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1947. She had worked as an office clerk at the Walworth Company in Kewanee. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kewanee. She enjoyed reading, following TV stories and collecting cats …... real or otherwise. Most of all she loved her family and cherished her time with them.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 20 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Rev. Art Blegen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Kewanee.
