KEWANEE – Mark A. Koehler, 46, of Kewanee, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at his home.
He was born April 15, 1978 in Kewanee, the son of Richard and Katharine “Kosh” (Herriott) Koehler. Survivors include his mother Kosh of Kewanee, his father and stepmother, Rich (Priscilla) of Kewanee, his sister, Bridgette (Doug) Dennis of Canton, four step-siblings, Rebecca (Mike) Ahearn of Kewanee, Cody (Sara) Miles of Minonk, IL, Jesse (Maria) Bitting of Elgin, IL and Katie Bitting of LeClaire, IA, his nieces, Brooklyn and Devlin Dennis and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Mark graduated from Kewanee High School. He worked in production at Rhino Tool in Kewanee. He loved music and playing the saxophone and was the lead singer for the band Short Live Fun. He also enjoyed fishing and socializing with his friends. Mark had an infectious smile and was always willing to give you a “bear hug.”
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor Marty Blakey officiating. The visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday December 13 at the funeral home and an additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
