GALVA - Mary M. Libby, 76, of Galva, died at 8:40 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 3 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Compassus.
She was born February 22, 1944 in Kewanee, the daughter of William and Theodora (Anderson) Curtis. She first married George Anderson and later married Don Libby in 1999 and he preceded her in death in January of 2013. Survivors include her two sons, Tom (Wendy) Anderson of Galva and Tim (Carrissa Poulson Anderson) Anderson of Mayer, AZ, her daughter, Teresa (Jeff) Royse of Galesburg, seven grandchildren; Christina (David) Hyde, Mitchell Bledsoe, Joseph Royse, Jessica Anderson, Megan (Sam) Voegele and Logan and Caleb Kuhn and six great grandchildren; A.J., Samantha, Ella, Rory-Elizabeth, Dexter and Emmerich. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Curtis and a sister, Gladys Hopper.
Mary graduated from Galva High School and obtained her Associates degree from Carl Sandburg College and her Masters in Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology. She was an ordained Lutheran minister. She enjoyed flower gardening, listening to music, crafting and collecting.
