MaryAnn Carlson

KEWANEE - MaryAnn Carlson, 85, of Kewanee, died at 7:35 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2024, at Kewanee Care Nursing Home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 31 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Deacon Martin VanMeltebeck  officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.

She was born April 29, 1939, in Kewanee, the daughter of Alex and Cunegunda (Domzalski) Olbrych. She is survived by two daughters, Deb Camey of Kewanee and Joanne (Tim) Bennett of Neponset, five grandchildren, Nikki, Shelly, Becca, Kayla and Jake, six great grandchildren, Tanner, Trace, Logan, Madison, Mykel and Karleigh, one great- great grandson, Alex and one great-great grandchild on the way. She was preceded by her parents, a daughter in infancy and a son-in-law, Mike Camey.

MaryAnn graduated from Kewanee High School in 1957. She had worked at the phone company, Kewanee Boiler and then at Kewanee Farm Equipment for 15 years. She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed gardening, reading and country music. Grandma Chloe especially enjoyed babysitting her grand and great-great grandchildren and following her grandchildren’s sporting events.
