Michael "Mike" Hepner

BISHOP HILL - Michael H. “Mike” Hepner, 70, of Bishop Hill, died at 1:36 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva with Pastor Rebecca Gearhart officiating. A visitation will be held from noon until the time of the services at the funeral home. The burial will be at Bishop Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society.

Mike was born on July 13, 1955 in Kewanee, the son of Robert H. and Gloria Mae (Clark) Hepner. He married Silvia Interial on July 10, 1976 in Bishop Hill. Silvia survives as well as their children, Jessica (Derek) Timmons of Abingdon, Michael R. (Katie) Hepner of South Bend, IN, Lindsey (Frisman Jackson) Hepner of Redmond, WA and Morgan (Juan) Hepner-Garcia of Fort Knox, KY, thirteen grandchildren, Brooke, Owen, Ella, Ruth, Grace, Calvin, Augustus, Henry, Maggie, Forrest, Anya, Mannex and Lexton, a sister, Connie (Don) Gerard of Galva, two brothers, Edward (Cathy) Hepner of San Antonio, TX and Douglas (Patty) Hepner of Kewanee and several nieces and nephews.

Mike graduated from Galva High School in 1973. He was an avid collector of antiques. He enjoyed antiquing and researching the history behind many of the pieces he collected. He took great pride in Bishop Hill and its history. He enjoyed playing cards, especially pitch, and spending time at the Filling Station where he could be found catching up on the local coming and goings of his friends and neighbors. He was exceptionally proud of his children and grandchildren and took great interest in their activities.
