GALVA - Myrna L. Quanstrom, 86, died at 5:32 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Liberty Village in Princeton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 25 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Pastor Chet Travis will officiate. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Messiah Lutheran Church in Galva, where she was a member and had taught Sunday School and served as treasurer.
Myrna was born March 6, 1933 in Nekoma, daughter of J. Edward and Grace (Kenney) Matson. She married Leonard Quanstrom on March 15, 1952 in Geneseo. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard in 2007, her parents and her step-mother, Mabel Matson.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra (Rod) Wright of Tuckerton, NJ, two sons, Larry (Debbi) Quanstrom of Bloomington and Randy (Laurie) Quanstrom of Princeton, eight grandchildren, Eric (Amy), Josh (Kara), and Phillip Jurich; and Ted (Lynn), Will, Tim (Samantha), Aaron and Rachel Quanstrom, ten great grandchildren, Emily, Megan, Ryan, Zachary and Gavin Jurich and Ean, Abbigail, Wyatt, Sawyer and Soren Quanstrom.
Myrna was a graduate of Galva High School and resided in Galva all her life, until moving to Princeton in 2011. She enjoyed her days at Liberty Village and was well taken care of. The staff and residents thought highly of Myrna.
Myrna enjoyed travelling across the country with her husband and children for family vacations. She will be remembered as a dedicated homemaker and a loving mother, first and foremost. She treasured her children and especially loved her role as grandmother - happy to care for them and spoil them, whenever the opportunity arose.
